I’m not trying to brag or boast about Baby bear, I just want to document him growing up and share how proud we are of him.

I’ve found myself saying “stop growing up so fast” lately. Baby bear seems to be meeting his milestones so quickly, we blink and he is doing something new. As proud as I am of him and how he is doing, it makes me kind of sad how fast he is growing up and needing me less (I can’t be the only parent who likes feeling needed by their child…I’m not right?)

Yes, I feed him, McDonald!

Our latest triumph is in potty training. He has been completely dry at home for a few months now so we have been putting jogging bottoms on with his pants. Its been going really well, he hates wearing nappies now. It’s a fight to put them on him so just before Christmas, he started to ask to not wear a nappy at bedtime he would even take his nappy off during the night so I decided to order a waterproof mattress protector for him.

He was also lucky enough to receive ‘Big Boy’ bed set for Christmas from his Aunt V, Uncle E, and B. I saved putting them on his bed until the mattress protector come so we could make his ‘Big Boy’ bed up to make it a bit more fun for him. He loves it which I think helps him feel a little more grown up and like he can do it.

Our first night without a nappy and we had a dry night other than a little accident. He woke up and called me but I wasn’t quite fast enough sorting his toilet seat out before he couldn’t hold it and had a tiny accident before going on the toilet. Either way, that’s a win in our eyes, I can’t believe how well he did (don’t ask me what we did I have no idea).

Our next step is letting him wear pants when we go out. He is ready and asks all the time but I don’t think I’m prepared for what’s to come with potty training outside the house. So if anyone has any advice or tips please let me know.
